Welcome to our feature, 10 minutes in the tackroom. This is a regular feature where we ask riders, businesses and charities 12 questions and they have a maximum of 10 minutes to answer them.

This week in the saddle we have Jen Bradbury.

Tell us about your horse!

Gizmo (Woltaire) is a 16.1hh 18 yr old KWPN by Voltaire. I have owned him since he was 5. He is currently on a rehab programme following a transfusion for a proximal suspensory tweak but is sound and will start working towards Veteran classes with my mum.

Stevie (Roulette) a 4 yr old 17hh Holsteiner has been part of our family since March. We are at the most exciting part of our journey together and I am aiming for 5 yr old YH classes next year.

Tell us a horse joke!

Q:What cheese should you use to hide a horse?

A: Mascarpone.

What do you do when you aren’t with your horse?

I work full time as a Business Manager for Greencore (a Food To Go Food Manufacturer) – on our site we make sandwiches for M&S.
I am married to long time sufferer: Leon and a mum to Maisie (5) and Harley (2).

What do you love about the horsey community?

My best friends all have links to horses somehow – they are life long and loyal and we are all super competitive.

What do you dislike about the horsey community?

I hate seeing riders hacking on the road not wearing any High – Vis or even acknowledging drivers.

Do your family share your passion of horses?

My mum always has – she used to work with International Showjumpers in Northern Ireland, my Dad just sees £ signs.

Tell us your funniest horse related story!

I choose Gizmo because he was stabled at the end of a yard next to a tap – every time someone walked passed he turned the tap on!

Who is your favourite famous horse rider?

Pat Smythe – if you haven’t read any of her books I recommend them! She is my biggest inspiration as a female rider.

You can read more about Pat Smythe here

Who is your favourite famous horse?

Ludgar Beerbaum’s Goldfever I. He has an incredible tail (I have a thing about thick, un-pulled tails).

You can read more about Goldfever I here

How many times have you fallen off?

Many, many times……
I once fell off at the Calvert Cup (Pony Club days!) at the furthest point of the course and my horse Copy Force Girl galloped home- she was returned and I re – mounted and carried on. In the meantime, 2 of my team mates had passed me and took great pleasure in my little incident.

What horsey product can’t you live without?

Mane and Tail Conditioner and tail brush!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!

I work in the food industry and can’t cook – at all.
