Welcome to our feature, 10 minutes in the tackroom. This is a regular feature where we ask riders, businesses and charities 12 questions and they have a maximum of 10 minutes to answer them.

Over the next 6 weeks, we will be featuring members of #teamequissimo.

#teamequissimo are a group of grassroots riders who we are helping to achieve their equestrian dreams while they carefully balance work and other commitments.

This week in the saddle we have Karla Butler, you can follow Karla on her Facebook or Instagram page. You can also take a look at Karla's #teamequissimo blog.

Tell us about your horse

Hugo is an 11 year old, 16.3hh Danish Warmblood.

I very recently purchased Hugo following my previous horses retirement and I plan to compete in affiliated dressage. Hugo has competed up to advanced medium and together I hope for us to achieve our dream of riding in tails!

What do you call a donkey with 3 legs? Wonkey Donkey

What do you do when you aren't with your horse?

When I’m not riding, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and the odd glass of prosecco!!

What do you love about the horsey community?

I love the team spirit and the encouragement between riders particularly at competitions. I have made so many good friends through the horsey community.

What do you dislike about the horsey community?

The horsey community at times can be negative and highly critical, however I think this happens in all communities and I’m lucky to be surrounded by positive and supportive people.

Do your family share your passion of horses?

Luckily for me, Mum and I share a passion for horses. Mum was involved with polo ponies when I was a child so I have been brought up around horses, unfortunately my husband and brother are not fans of horses and prefer car horse power!!

Tell us your funniest horse related story?

As a child I had a cheeky 12.2 palomino, who I enjoyed cantering up the hill field, on one particular day I cantered up the field and as I walked back down he got excited and bucked me off. Mum was a great believer in putting me back on and telling me to get on with it so I was put back on and off we went back up the field and the same happened again! I was put back on a total of three times before Mum finally decided my pony was a little fresh, we tried again the following day and he was fine!!

Who is your favourite famous horse rider?

It has to be Scott Brash, he is a beautiful calm, quiet rider and I admire this when faced with jumps off 1.6 metres.

Who is your favourite famous horse?

As a dressage rider I absolutely love Valegro, having seen him on a yard visit and competing he has a real look at me presence he knows he’s special. Watching him compete gives my goose bumps and his retirement at Olympia was really special.

How many times have you fallen off?

Too many times to count!

What horsey product can't you live without?

I cannot live without my Kingsland riding tights, they have been amazingly cool and light weight in the hot weather this summer.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I love fridge cold chocolate!!
