I suppose a practice on grass is usually a good idea before riding a test on grass!
We don’t get the chance to compete on grass an awful lot nowadays and I’ve always loved it, it’s great practice for those individual shows.
Long gone are the days where I remember any ‘dressage’ (read as motorbiking around corners on my 13.2 New Forest) I did was in a boarded off arena on a patch of grass.
Everything is now always in some super fancy, all singing all dancing, all weather arena.
Of course don’t get me wrong, I do very much enjoy riding on these wonderful surfaces but the odd spot of dressage ran on grass (without having to take up eventing ) would be lovely!
There’s just something ever so rustic about it.
