Welcome to our feature, 10 minutes in the tackroom. This is a regular feature where we ask riders, businesses and charities 12 questions and they have a maximum of 10 minutes to answer them.

This week in the saddle we have Alison from Tail End Jewellery. You can follow Tail End Jewellery on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and their Website.

Tell us about your horse!

Seymour is an 11 year old, dark bay, 14.3hh welsh x sports horse who is far too clever for his own good! We also have Diddles an 11.2hh pony.

Tell us a horse joke!

What do you call a horse that plays guitar in a band…….a rockin horse.

What do you do when you aren’t with your horse?

Work! Being self employed and running your own business soon becomes a 24/7 existence – that and having 11 and 13 year old children.

What do you love about the horsey community?

No one minds if you turn up smelling of horses, have mucky clothes and muddy boots and hay in your hair!

What do you dislike about the horsey community?

Yard politics and interfering busy bodies – luckily those days are behind me and I have my horses at home.

Do your family share your passion of horses?

My parents don’t ride and my only connection was my grandfather who looked after the mules in the war! My daughter now has my love of horses and riding though.

Tell us your funniest horse related story!

I once had a psychotic mare to break in. We ended up one day turning her out (supervised) with her saddle on. Seymour, the clever one, wandered up took one look and said I know how these things work let me help you and proceeded to lift the saddle flap with his nose and undo the girth straps for her!

How many times have you fallen off?

Since I have been riding for 40 years (oh my god!) more times than I care to remember but the last time hurt! You don’t bounce or bend as well when you are older and it resulted in broken ribs, fingers and smashed up teeth!

What horsey product can’t you live without?

At the moment home made fly spray!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!

I cant say the word phenomenon.

Well done Alison you have completed the 10 minutes in the tackroom challenge. If you would like to take part in the challenge, email info@equissimo.co.uk.
