Welcome to our feature, 10 minutes in the tackroom. This is a regular feature where we ask riders, businesses and charities 12 questions and they have a maximum of 10 minutes to answer them.

This week in the saddle we have India, you can follow India on her Instagram page

Tell us about your horse

Ariarna is a 14.2hh bay Irish sports mare. I have mostly hacked and jumped her over the 3 and 3/4 years I have owned her. She is coming up to 19years in 2019! We bought her as an all rounder and was a cross country machine in her younger years, however she now is enjoying life as a semi-retired happy hacker.

Tell us a horse joke

This is a joke that has always reminded me of my dad.
A horse walks into a bar, the barman says “why the long face?!”
It definitely is a classic dad joke!

What do you do when you aren't with your horse?

As I am only 13 I am currently under home education. When I am not doing school work or with my ponies, I enjoy spending time with family or friends at home or out and about!

What do you love about the horsey community?

I love that we have all dedicated our lives to the most amazing, courageous, brave creature. And despite breaking our backs for them, we still would make the same decision all over again.

What do you dislike about the horsey community?

I dislike the fact that there are so many people that agree with one thing but not with other things, and that sometimes causes people to criticise your decisions and even sometimes look down on you. I guess you cant please everyone!

Do your family share your passion of horses?

My little Sister, Matilda has her own pony, Rio who regularly features on my account, he also has his own instagram account @rio_my_boy . My mum also rides Ariarna occasionally, however she much prefers the mucking out, yard maintenance part and the handling of the horses.

Tell us your funniest horse related story?

About a month or two ago, I was leading my little sister, Matilda on Rio around a small cross pole jumping class, when suddenly at jump number 5 my boot just brushed the jump making me go tumbling down, landing face first into the arena sand! With all of the competitors, judges and even the owner of the premises watching me! What’s worse is I had to get straight back up and keep running afterwards!

Who is your favourite famous horse rider?

Pippa Funnell
Because as well as being an absolute pleasure to watch, I have always admired that no matter how busy she was with the billy stud and eventing she always made time to write my favourite childhood series ‘Tilly’s pony tails’ A series of children’s books.
Read more about Pippa Funnell here.

Who is your favourite famous horse?

William Fox-Pitt’s Chilli Morning! As I loved watching him on the television and even live at events. I adore the effortless way he would jump over the most huge and technical fences and make dressage look like a breeze!

How many times have you fallen off?

Too many times to count! However the horse I have taken the most falls from has to be my old loan pony, Tommy. He was only 5 and very nervous! I was only learning to ride at the time! Even through everything I went through with him I still loved him to pieces!

What horsey product can't you live without?

know its not one thing but I definitely can’t live without it! It’s my red matchy matchy set!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

I was born on the same date as my great nan! We are both born on December the 17th!
